A day of pageantry and carnival to celebrate the life of the world’s greatest playwright at Shakespeare’s Birthplace and throughout Stratford-upon-Avon. This unique event has taken place in Stratford for nearly 200 years. It is a tradition that brings together the local community, performers, artists and ambassadors from around the world in a vibrant celebration of the life and works of William Shakespeare.

The town’s streets will overflow with pageantry, music and drama and over the two day birthday period you can enjoy a packed programme of special celebratory activities, great days out at the five Shakespeare houses, literary and music events and amazing theatre
